Trying the combination of sails! We are sailors now!

All lines run into the cockpit and onto the floor, I know, I know, of course it does, it is a 25' Hunter!  What a nice sail even while I was recovering from major dental care.  So Tammy (the Admiral) suggested we run with the jib and see what s/v Living and Loving Life does, so we ran with the jib then the jib/main, then we even ran with just the main, covering about 11 miles.....what a blast!!!!

Rock n Roll

Storms moved through in the marina.  The winds were very strong causing the boat to heel 7 degrees.  I slept very comfortably but Tammy was awaken many times, she did wake me when the boat heeled her over on me.  A sailboat on another dock had a jib sail tear loose and woke several during the night.  S/V Living and Loving Life was aground because the water was so low after being blown out of Galveston Bay.  The steps wouldn't even reach the land off of the floating dock in the marina.

Yachty Gras - Sleeping on the boat.

We were able to go down and hang out with some friends for Yachty Gras.  Checkout the pics and video!

Yachty Gras

We were rocked and rolled early morning to a storm moving through, rolling Tammy over on me, quite the blow!

Eating lunch on Galveston Bay

We went out on Galveston Bay to eat lunch and it was great but when we went to sail the wind had quit as a front moved through, but someone got to sail.

Upgrades for Technology!

Tammy and I upgraded the vessel with DC power receptacle, and a DC fan in the V-Berth.  So now we can plug in and charge iPhone's, iPad's, or run an inverter while at anchor.  I got in my version of Kilroy was here.

Tammy and I were able to go out and enjoy Galveston Bay for a few hours!  How peaceful!

Plans

Tammy and I spent a rainy day visiting with Our Way Too crew, we all were making plans of moving cruising, closer to a reality!  Our land obligations; of course in the form of bills are holding us back..........but in retrospect this is not that far away.  We have set in motion a fast track to pulling the lines free.  Oue debt is low. Our minds are free. Our desire is high.

It is great to enjoy sitting on S/V Living and Loving Life in the rain as well.

Out for a tour

Since Tammy's hip replacement we haven't been out so I got brave this time, deciding to single hand the boat and take her for a ride.  I constructed a lasso to catch the cleat and hold the boat in place when docking, since my faithful crew cannot step onto the dock just yet.  We motored around the Galveston Bay for a while then returned to the dreaded docking.  I missed the cleat but was moving slow enough that Tammy caught the next cleat, with the lasso, on the finger pier and all went well with her still being my crew; so much for me single handing it..........lol!
